How very ruddy exciting! After far too many hours of hard labour (I’m very sweaty), we have finally moved over to the new server at gameonyou.co.uk
If you know of any stragglers who may still be left behind at the old address, drag them kicking and screaming into the URL-logical future!
Remember to get on over to the new address and update your bookmarks/del.icio.us/RSS etc!

That’s right, you heard it correctly. Konami have pulled MGS4…
With so many questions unanswered they only had this to say: ” We are very sorry but we had to pull the game due to the massive amounts of 360 fanboys arguing about it not being a PS3-only exclusive”. Several minutes after Konami released this statement, PS3 owners around the world went into uproar, creating riots and spam on several million forums around the world.
Even snake himself was pissed off about the whole situation and here is what he had to say about it all: “What the hell is Kojima thinking? I’ve had enough of this crap, I’m defecting to Microsoft”… Snake was later found at Kojima’s house and was arrested for murder.
Konami have just released another statement saying “It was only a damn April fools’ joke, why did you do this Snake, why? Snakeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee”
Happy April fools everybody

Sega released some unbelievable new information to their shareholders last night regarding future projects. They released information regarding the release of a secret Sonic project (Sonic Unleashed) alongside snippets of information regarding a huge hardware project. Obviously we at GoY are very exited about this news as we are big fans of the Dreamcast. They plan to make a public announcement at the end of the month but they have let some information slip.
They revealed that the new device will “provide strong competition to the portable industry” and they have some flagship titles already in the works which will be announced alongside the mysterious console. The fact that they claimed it would be possible for them to create an affordable portable device for emulating previous Sega consoles (claimed last April) fortifies out hopes for a Dreamcast portable.
Is this a dream?
Watch this space for cakes and pie.

Late Monday night/Tuesday morning, the official GTA VI site listed some April Fools’ news which stated that a HMV store in Birmingham (the site gave the address of a specific store) would be selling pre-release copies of the game on 360 at opening time on the 1st of April. Rockstar (presumably they were at the heart of the prank) presumed that GTA fans would either see through the fairly obvious joke, or would arrive at the store only to ask for a copy of an unreleased game and realise their own stupidity.

If you didn’t know this, then let us tell you now that Namco Museum, recently released on the DS, has the very brilliant Pac-man Vs. Originally released as a freebie with R:Racing on the GameCube, the few people that bought it probably played it more than the driving game - although only after unlocking the shower scene - it was at the time in doubt if it was ever going to be released in the UK. I have seen this pack for the princely sum of £25 minus a penny and it contains some other games as well. What? You think I should? But who cares? Its worth the money by itself.
OK. OK. You also get Pac-Man (probably the original - no bad thing as it’s timeless and everything), The Tower Of Druaga (played it on MAME and I think its slow and not very good. In fact I always thought it was the name of another game, Dragon Buster, which is ace), Mappy (good platform bouncy game), Dig Dug II (if I have played this I don’t remember what the difference is between this and the first one. Speaking of the first one, whenever I played it on my mate’s 2600 I was always wanting to play Mr. Do on his Dragon 32 instead) plus shoot-em-up lovelies Galaga, Galaxians and Xevious (the latter being a particular fave of mine. And no, Nintendo, I wasn’t going to spend a tenner on it for my GBA, as much as I like it).
So there you have it; one rare as rockin’ horse-shit brill game with 7 freebies. Nice!

Tired of gunning through the epic war against space villains? Tough Luck because it appears that most of this years exclusives are exclusively that. With Epic/Microsoft’s Gears of War on the horizon it only seems fit that we now hear how Sony plan to oppose them. Gaming blog Videogamer.com have got their hands on some juicy information which is sure to please the PS3 side of the war, even if it is something which has been expected all along. They have found what appears to be Sony’s rough pencil sketches depicting the dates which they aim to release 3 exclusives in the UK this year, 2 of them Sci-Fi shooters.
To find out the dates, hop over to the full article. Read the rest of this entry »

Major Nelson has informed Xboxers that the Halo 3 Heroic Map pack, containing 3 new multiplayer maps, is now available for free from the Xbox Live Marketplace.
Standoff
The symmetrical valley of Standoff, with its entrenched bases and fields of boulders is ideal for mid-sized objective and Slayer game types.
Rat’s Nest
The vast, labyrinthine passages of the Rat’s Nest bring something completely new to the multiplayer experience: an indoor vehicle paradise. Strongly influenced by the Campaign mode, this map is ideal for big team battles.
Foundry
Foundry is the ultimate Forge map. Players can edit every single object in this voluminous industrial warehouse, placing stairways, walls, bridges, and tunnels to create an entirely new play space and build almost any kind of map imaginable.
Exiting stuff, although it’s a shame that Halo 3 is such an average game.

March has seen quite a few high-quality releases, with a few more to come before the end of the month. Because of this, you may think that the number of releases may slow down for April. If you think this, you are wrong and should be shot. If you think that there is only one game worth picking up coming out this month then you should also be shot. Not as much as those who think there are no games, but shot nonetheless. The number of released this month may be short but the quality means that April is most definitely a sweet month for gaming this year. There isn’t just one game coming out this month, but there is a game. A highly anticipated game. A game which, if it were released any other time than now would be game of the year, nay, century. Read on as we reveal the cracking line up for April. Read the rest of this entry »
