If you’ve been following the gaming news, analysts recently predicted that Sony are going to be worried after the Xbox 360 price-cuts as it may cause sales to dry up. Sony, always the optimists, say this is not the case. Which is no surprise, what is a surprise is that they give a resoundingly good reason. They say that PS3 sales will continue uphill due to the fact that it has Blu-Ray integrated into the system. While this may be true I’m not so sure as Blu-Ray player prices are, like the 360, falling.
If this argument proves to be correct then Microsoft will not be happy as the 360 cut was a snide attempt to undercut the PS3 not only in price but also due to the large volume of exclusive titles coming to the console. Looks like Microsoft will have to rely on their own hard-hitting sequels in the holidays. That, and GTA IV.

Take-Two have confirmed that Rockstar have a major sequel in the works which will go into the final stages of development after GTAIV has been released. This info was given in to investors earlier today and while details are slim, we can speculate on the possibilities.
Our money’s on either a sequel to Max Payne (alongside the release of the upcoming film), Red Dead Revolver 2, Manhunt 3, Bully or (if we’re very lucky) Lemmings X: Rise of the Machines. From the previous statement you may have guessed we at GoY are not the gambling types, but if we’re right at least we’ll win a fraction of the money we bet and a fraction of the respect we lost.

Rez is an interesting blend of rhythm, on rails shooting and trippy graphics. It was released by Sega of Europe in 2002 and has just received a re-release on the Xbox Live Arcade.
The father of this unique game is Tetsuya Mizuguchi, who also created Lumines and Space Channel 5.

Don King Presents: Prizefighter
NBA 2K9
NHL 2K9
Dora Saves the Mermaids/Go Diego Go! Safari Rescue
First off, I would like to start by saying that this line up doesn’t quite strike me as “Cracking”…Well from a company that brought us great games like Bioshock , Dungeon Siege 2 and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion I expected a little more.
Dora Saves the Mermaids!? - I’m sure everyone like me is very excited for this title but I’m a little curious about what a game about saving the mermaids could Involve, well no need to worry Dora fans because here is a small quote from 2K Games on what you can expect: Read the rest of this entry »

A Dutch gaming blog have managed to dig up what looks like some fairly hard evidence that the European Xbox 360 will be dropping its price in the near future.
It goes without saying that this will hopefully also include a UK price-drop. More news as it comes, fellow bargain hunters!
——————————————————-
Update: It has now been confirmed by Xbox Live’s Major Nelson. There will indeed be a price drop for Europe - Including UK. Details after the post-break.

The first in a series of downloadable content for 360 exclusive Mass Effect has been released today in the Live Marketplace. It’s called “Bring Down the Sky” and promises 90 minutes of Batarian blasting antics.
If you are at all baffled by the previous sentence we would not be at all surprised. The Batarians are an all new race introduced in this expansion who… well, we won’t say anymore except that their arses should be well and truly kicked once you’re done with them.
The pack will cost 400 Microsoft Points (about a fiver in real currency) and is out now.

Amazon have been doing quite well for prices recently (do a quick search for GTA IV for proof of that fact), and this beaut’s no different.
I’ve had a quick playtest of ET: QW and to me it came across as Battlefield with more open landscapes. For this price, it’s definitely worth a shot (terrible, I know) if you enjoy your team-based shooters.
Head on over there and get your Wars on.
